Rolling through rush hour traffic in the early hours, Arizona's sunrise is an experience to see. Our appointments for Eli were at 8am and then again at 11:15am. We began our day walking through the eye doctor's office, checked in and waited for the appointment to start. As they called us back, we had big hopes that we would hear good news. The eye doctor looked at his eyes, this coming after two eye surgeries and noticed that Eli's left eye was staggering once again and suggested us to patch his eye until his next appointment in 3 months. I just can not understand how after two surgeries that his eyes were not completely fixed and seemed to be just temporary. The appointment lasted about 20 minutes but my mind was on it for the rest of the day, including at his dental appointment.
We arrived at his dentist appointment in Gilbert, AZ and everything was normal. The check up was good after fussing to take his x-rays and yet Eli still would not allow him to take. The dentist told us as far as he could see, Eli's teeth looked good but because he would not let the dentist take x-rays, he needed us to come back in June. He continued to clean his teeth. After the teeth cleaning, we were on our way.
After all the appointments on Thursday, we headed to the zoo on Friday. Not a surprise hat Eli loved it, even if there were no animals out that we wanted to see. Many animals like the giraffes, elephants and lions were not out. Disappointing. The zoo really is not that big and it took us almost 4 hours to round the zoo completely. We could not leave without purchasing something for Eli. He wanted a tiger and a bag to put him in. What a gorgeous day it was.
Saturday came and we had plans with friends, friends we haven't seen in years. One group of friends in Tucson ended up becoming sick and we did not want to take a chance so we ended up with a play date. Eli really is not around many friends, not due to the pandemic but in general. I was shocked how well he played with his friends at their house. Needless to say, I think we may be welcomed back.
Our next trip out to Phoenix, AZ is in March. It seems it may never end but this time it is an appointment for myself. Would you of guessed? Funny how things turn around.
